Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is Malaysia's largest institution of higher learning in terms of size and population since its inception in 1956.The university offers various levels of courses from foundation to doctorate degree with 508 programmes. Currently, UiTM has 27 faculties across campuses. The vision of the university is to be a premier university of outstanding scholarship and academic excellence to produce globally competitive graduates of sound ethical standing. The university has established 35 campuses and 21 affiliated colleges nationwide with 27 faculties. Of the 35 campuses, 13 autonomous state campuses located geographically are empowered to develop and run their own programmes according to the needs of the State Governments. In 2017, the university launched the UiTM Transformation Agenda or Trans4U developed to focus on four (4) components: Organisation, Human Capital, Process and Technology, executed via 16 Transformation Programmes, encompassing 66 projects.
UiTM Sarawak located in the State of Sarawak is one of the autonomous state campuses and plays an important role in bringing together experts in various fields to pave the way for cooperation and collaboration between different organizations and universities not only locally but across the globe. This project proposed can be included to be relevant to the Trans4U. In line with the Sarawak State Government’s strategic actions under the digital economy agenda, the education agenda of UiTM Sarawak therefore has to progress to development of digital infrastructure, digital skills and talent development, research and development, digital innovation and entrepreneurship, digital and data, cyber security and digital inclusivity to spur the economy of the region. This project will be enable UiTM Sarawak to facilitate in Human Capital Development.
