USU collaborates with Russia's RUDN University to develop science and education

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and People's Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) have established cooperation in medicine, agriculture, science, technology, law, and economics. The agreement was reached during a meeting between USU Rector, Runtung Sitepu, and RUDN University Rector, Vladimir Fillipov, at RUDN University in Moscow. During the meeting, the two signed an "Agreement on Cooperation in Science and Education," which covers various aspects such as the exchange of staff, lecturers, students, joint research, and the establishment of new programs.

The Rector of RUDN University emphasized his readiness to collaborate in  medicine, agriculture, and other fields of science. The focus of cooperation in medicine includes the study of tropical diseases and the development of medications for the tropics. In addition, RUDN University welcomes the increasing number of Indonesian students studying there, especially in the faculty of medicine.

The Rector of USU, Runtung Sitepu, is optimistic about the prospects of this cooperation and hopes that it can contribute to the progress of USU and Indonesia as a whole. The visit to Moscow also involved other USU representatives, such as Emerson Pascawira Sinulingga and Esther Sorta Mauli Nababan, and the Indonesian Ambassador to Russia, M Wahid Supriyadi.
