Public Lecture on Digital Mastery in Industry 4.0

The World Class University team of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held another online public lecture via zoom with the theme "Digital Mastery in Industry 4.0" on Saturday, June 27, 2020. The event was hosted by USU Rector Expert Staff and USU Faculty of Engineering lecturer, Emerson Pascawira Sinulingga, ST, M Sc, Ph D, and attended by guest speaker Mardi FN Sinaga, VP Human Capital Business Partner of PT Telekomunikasi Selular.

In the opening of the event, USU Vice Chancellor III, Prof Drs Mahyuddin KM Nasution, MIT, Ph D, welcomed the online public lecture as an effort to avoid the spread of Covid-19. He also invited all participants to actively listen to the presentation from the speaker.

As the guest speaker, Mardi FN Sinaga said that advancements in digital technology affect various aspects of life, including business, industry, education, health, social, government, and human life globally. He emphasized the importance of adapting to the disruptions caused by the development of digital technology as the key to the survival and success of a business or organization.

According to Mardi, digital technology disruptions bring numerous benefits, such as cost reduction, process simplification, more efficient error correction, and increased accessibility to information and services. It also encourages the formation of a positive digital mindset, increases productivity, and stimulates business growth significantly.
